Farmers and scientists deserve appreciation: Union Minister Narendra Tomar at ABVP’s Agrivision conference

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Saturday organised the seventh national convention of Agrivision where Union Minister Narendra Tomar addressed students and several other agricultural academicians and scientists.

The ABVP said in a statement that important proposals related to agriculture were passed during the conference, which, mainly, demanded for the establishment of the Agriculture Council of India against irregularities prevailing in the agricultural sector, and for the appointment of permanent professors in agricultural universities were proposed.

Union Agriculture Minister Tomar said, “If a farmer fills our stomach, then why can’t we call him a rich, prosperous or food provider farmer instead of calling them poor? The agriculture sector is the basis of our economy, the backbone of our country. Our farmers and scientists who are working in the agriculture sector deserve appreciation, they should always be encouraged.”

“Agrivision is continuously working towards the betterment of the agriculture sector. There is a need to upgrade the agriculture sector with new technology so that this sector can develop into a profitable one,” said Shubham Singh Patel, National Convenor, Agrivision.

The conference was attended by more than 400 students and professors.
